According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, spring begins with the vernal equinox in the northern hemisphere at 7:02 a.m. today, Wednesday, March 20.
Spring is a time, the Old Farmer's Almanac says, when worms begin to emerge from the ground, ladybugs land on screen doors and flowers begin to bloom. The vernal, or spring, equinox signals the beginning of nature’s renewal in the northern hemisphere. The season will last three months until June 21, when summer starts.
