Gwinnett Braves to Hold Benefit for Tripp Halstead

The G-Braves will hold a 5k and "Tripp Halstead Night" to raise money for the toddler injured in Barrow County last year.

The Gwinnett Braves announced Monday they will hold a 5k to raise funds for Tripp Halstead, the Barrow County toddler injured when a tree limb hit him in the head during Hurricane Sandy last fall. 

The race called "Tripp's Trot" will take place Saturday, June 22 at 8 a.m. at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, Ga. Registration is $25 before May 22 and increases to $35 the day of the event. 

There will also be a Fun Run. Registration for that is $20.

Runners can register at trippstrot.com.

The support will continue that day with "Tripp Halstead Night" at the G-Braves game against the Syracuse Chiefs. A portion of funds raised from the concession stands and a Tennis Toss after the game will go to the Halstead family.
