Governor Unveils Peachy New License Plate Design

Production on the new license plates will begin this fall.

Gov. Nathan Deal today revealed the new plate design that will soon adorn Georgia registered vehicles.

The winning design, which includes peaches and a peach tree in bloom, was designed by Linda Sosebee of Forsyth. Sosebee has created murals for the Department of Corrections, the Forsyth-Monroe County Chamber of Commerce, several hospitals and private practices. Her plate design was the top vote getter in the Department of Revenue’s recent design contest with 34,154 votes.

Unlike Georgia’s current plates, the new plate will not have raised numbers or letters resulting in a less expensive production process.  According to a press release from Gov. Deal’s office, Georgia taxpayers will not incur any added expense for production of the new license plates and will also have the option of selecting a plain tag.
