Five Things to Do This Weekend: May 12-15

Here are our picks for events and activities to check out this weekend.

1. 

  • When and where: Beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday and running until the last event at 5:35 p.m. Sunday at UGA’s Spec Towns Track
  • Why go: To see some of the fastest and strongest track and field competitors in the world, many of whom are expected to head to the 2012 Olympic Games in London
  • Pricing: Free May 12, $20 for a Friday through Sunday pass or $10 per day

2. 

  • When and where: 10 a.m. Friday and running until the last match starts at 3 p.m. Sunday at UGA’s Dan Magill Tennis Complex
  • Why go: To see the best college men’s and women’s tennis teams in the NCAA Division 1 play on the courts at UGA
  • Pricing: $5 per match for the general public and $3 for students

3.

  • When and where: 7 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday at the W. Clair Harris Stadium at
  • Why go: To join with others in the community and with people across the globe to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and raise funds to fight back against the disease
  • Pricing: $10 registration fee per person

  • When and where: 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the
  • Why go: To see the Winder-Barrow Community Theatre’s presentation of A.R. Gurney’s dramatic comedy  
  • Pricing: $10 to $12.50 in advance and $13 to $15 at the door
