Feb. 22, 1945: Winder's Own Pied Piper?

Resident commended for his work on rat control program.

The Winder News commended Frank Bondurant for his work on a rat control program in its issue dated Feb. 22, 1945. The newspaper asserted Winder had long been infested with rats, carriers of Typhus fever, that were living in stores, warehouses and homes. The paper said it did not wish to immortalize Bondurant as the “Pied Piper of Winder,” but did want to commend his efforts, which included enlisting the active support of the Kiwanis and Lions clubs and the financial support of the city.
