Job title: Deputy sheriff 
Description: Walton County Government has an opening in Monroe for a deputy sheriff. Responsibilities include various law enforcement tasks for the patrol division and evaluating and deciphering emergency and non-emergency calls. This employee enforces motor vehicle laws, directs traffic, investigates crimes, interviews witnesses and reviews and prepares reports.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a high school diploma or a GED, P.O.S.T. certification as a law enforcement officer, vocational or technical school training in criminal justice, law enforcement or closely related area, a minimum of one year of experience in law enforcement, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job. Applicants must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
