City Spotlight on Winder: PSAs to Salute Military Service Members Past and Present

A public service announcement program titled Winder Salutes is designed to recognize the military service, commitment and sacrifice of Winder and Barrow County residents.

Even though Independence Day 2011 is now one for the history books, patriotism remains alive and well in Winder all year long.

Through a collaborative partnership between and the , a public service announcement program aptly titled Winder Salutes is designed to recognize the service, commitment and sacrifice of Winder and Barrow County residents who have served or are currently serving in any branch of the U.S. armed forces. Individuals will be introduced through a series of 30 second PSA breaks randomly broadcast between other regularly scheduled programming on WTV21.

To include yourself or your loved one in Winder Salutes, please submit the following information to windersalutes@cityofwinder.com

  • Service member’s name
  • Rank
  • Branch of service
  • Years or dates of service
  • Status (active, veteran, retired or deceased — if killed in action, please provide date and location if known)
  • Current deployment (if applicable)
  • Local hometown
  • A military photo (digital only — no hard copies, please)
  • A civilian photo (digital only — no hard copies, please)
