City Spotlight on Winder: Calling all Vendors and Barbecue Pit Masters

A few spaces remain for the upcoming Jug Tavern Festival.

With the popular Jug Tavern Festival a little over a month away, the city of Winder wants Patch readers to know the city is still accepting applications for food and craft vendors and barbecue cook teams.

Interested vendor parties can mail a completed application — available in both PDF and Word formats online — and associated payments to City of Winder Events, P.O. Box 566, Winder, Ga. 30680.

Space is extremely limited, so don’t delay! Full payments must be made at least 10 days prior to the event in order to participate.

At the time of publication, only eight slots remained for barbecue cook teams for the National Kansas City BBQ Cookoff portion of the festival. Details, applications (PDF and Word) and Kansas City Barbeque Society Rules are also available online. For additional information, please direct questions to event manager John Janick via e-mail or by phone by calling 678-425-9082.

Whether you plan to play an active role in this year’s event or simply wish to take part in all of the barbecue-sampling, car and tractor show-watching, live music-listening, 5K-running, pony-riding, fireworks-gazing fun — don't forget to mark your calendars for the 2011 Jug Tavern Festival on from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10. To stay up-to-date on the latest festival news, be sure to “like” the Jug Tavern Festival’s Facebook page.
