City Spotlight on Statham: Library Calendar Loaded Cover to Cover

The latest news from a favorite local library.

The Statham Public Library — a member of the Piedmont Regional Library System — is sporting an events calendar that’s a real page turner for the months of August and September.

Aside from aisle after aisle of great children’s literature and books for adults, the library is also the place to be for mystery readers and knitters. The Monday Mystery Readers meet from 5 to 6 p.m. the second Monday of each month, and the Knitting Club meets at 1 p.m. every Friday.

The Statham Public Library is also currently hosting an ongoing book sale featuring items ranging in price from a quarter to a whopping $2. New books are added weekly, so keep checking back for that next great read. During Statham’s upcoming Community Yard Sale on Saturday, Aug. 20, the library will join in the fun by moving the book sale outdoors.

Registered participants who complete five books will receive one ticket to an Atlanta Hawks game. Parents can purchase additional tickets at a discount. To register, visit checkitoutreading.com. Hurry! The promotion ends Aug. 19.
