Braselton Seeks Fledgling Fashion Designers to Create Event T-shirt Design

The town has issued a call for submissions for the Braselton Beach Bash T-Shirt Design Contest.

We’re all thinking about it. Between chilly morning temperatures keeping the South tethered to winter and warm, sunny afternoons giving the earliest hints of spring, all eyes are on the calendar as we look ahead to spring and summer break, and all thoughts turn to dreams of the beach.

For land-locked North Georgia, the next best thing to actually being there is likely the Braselton Beach Bash Festival — scheduled for Saturday, May 19.

While its residents imagine long walks through the surf and the feel of their toes in the sand, Braselton Town Hall is already concerning itself with issues such as which vendors will take part in the family-friendly fun fest and which fledgling fashion designer will conceptualize the Braselton Beach Bash T-shirt. That’s why earlier this week, they issued a shout-out to local kids — ages 18 and younger — to design an event T-shirt for the chance to win cash.

The town of Braselton is seeking a combined image and slogan that is colorful, graphically appealing and thoughtfully represents the theme “Braselton Beach Bash”.

Submissions must include original artwork or public domain clipart, as they may be simplified or slightly altered for tees and other promotional items. A maximum of four colors may be used, including black and white. Aspiring artists are encouraged to use solid colors only — no watercolors or airbrush effects, please — and just one color for the background.

Submissions must be received by March 14, 2012, and can be sent via e-mail or mail. Digital submissions should be saved to a JPG or PDF format and e-mailed to jdees@braselton.net. Mailed artwork can be sent to P.O. Box 306, Braselton, GA 30517. All submissions must be attached to a completed submission form. If a child wishes to submit more than one piece of artwork for consideration, each piece must be attached to an individual submission form.

One winning entry will be selected from all of the submissions, and the winner will be awarded $50. The winning entry will appear on T-shirts sold during the Beach Bash Festival and worn by Beach Bash volunteers. It may even appear on additional promotional materials for the event.

Please call 706-654-5720 or e-mail jdees@braselton.net with any additional questions you may have concerning the contest.
