Georgia's governor made a campaign stop in Winder this date in 1938.
Governor Ed Rivers addressed residents Aug. 29, 1938, on the steps of what is now the historic Barrow County courthouse. Rivers discussed the accomplishments of his administration. He was re-elected later that year.
