Local firefighters were busy this date in 1931 fighting two fires

Firefighters were busy Aug. 19, 1931, fighting two fires β€” one that afternoon at the home of Mr. J. J. Maddox that was caused by a lightning strike and another that night at a residence on King Street owned by Mr. J. J. Sheridan that was a total loss to the blaze.
