Man Crashes Stolen Truck Into Tree During Police Pursuit — Oconee Patch

Within minutes of receiving a report Tuesday that a Toyota Tundra had been stolen from a Crooked Creek Road residence, Oconee County Sheriff's deputies had handcuffs on a 20-year-old Comer man.

The call came in just after 5 p.m. with information from the victim that the truck was headed toward Mars Hill Road, according to a news release. Deputies spotted it as it approached Butler’s Crossing.

The driver tried to elude deputies but ended up crashing into a tree.

 — Decatur Patch

Avondale Estates police have investigated three residential burglaries in 11 days, including one in which a woman returned home and discovered two intruders in her back yard.

That incident occurred in the 100 block of Fairfield Drive. The woman yelled at the man and woman, which attracted the attention of other people in the neighborhood.

The man and woman jumped a fence and ran into Avondale Station Apartments, dropping some stolen loot at they ran, police said.

Suspect Sought in Sexual Assaults — East Atlanta Patch

Atlanta police have released a sketch of a man they say posed as an undercover police officer and fondled two teenaged girls last month in Lakewood Heights.

The victims, 16 and 17, told police the suspect identified himself as an undercover police officer and walked them to the far wall of a building next to a gas station and fondled them as he conducted a "pat-down."

The girls then said he ordered them to kneel and after they complied, he told them to strip.

 — Alpharetta Patch

An Alpharetta woman is in critical condition after what appears to have been an incident of domestic violence at an apartment on Jefferson Way early Tuesday morning.

Police responded to the apartment after a neighbor who said he heard arguing coming from an adjacent apartment called 911, said George Gordon, Alpharetta Department of Public Safety.

Alpharetta police found a female victim who was critically injured, Gordon said. A male suspect was taken into custody for questioning. The female victim was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment.
