Former Navy Recruit Charged in Fort Stewart Militia Case — Fort Stewart Patch

An 11th person has been charged in connection with a militia group that prosecutors say planned terrorist attacks, according to an Associated Press report.

Jeffrey Wayne Roberts, 27, of Savannah, has been charged with illegal gang activity and possession of cocaine, marijuana and ecstasy, according to the AP. Roberts is a former Navy recruit.

Cumming Man Dies in Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer — Cumming Patch

A 43-year-old man from Cumming died Friday morning after being struck by a tractor-trailer on Highway 369 in west Forsyth County.

Peter Trione, who was driving a 2007 black Ford F150 truck, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Investigator Ron Tomblin of theForsyth County Sheriff's Office.

The press release stated that Trione was heading eastbound on Highway 369 near the intersection of Hubert Martin Road when he left the roadway for an unknown reason.

Roswell Student Wins $250K in Lottery — Roswell Patch 

One Roswell college student received a jolt of cheer with news of a quarter-million dollar win from the Georgia Lottery. Ryan Barrett, 20, matched the first five numbers from the Nov. 6 Mega Millions drawing, winning a $250,000 prize.

Barrett, a sophomore studying computer science at Georgia Perimeter College, claimed his prize recently at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Duluth.
