 — Oconee Patch

Authorities are warning pet owners to keep their animals inside after a coyote reportedly attacked two pets in an Oconee County subdivision Monday evening.

"We have reason to believe the coyote may be wounded, but is still in the area," the Sheriff's Office reported on Facebook.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources provides a fact sheet about coyotes on its website, which notes "prevention is the best defense against nuisance coyotes."

 — Douglasville Patch

The Georgia State Patrol is searching for a hit-and-run driver in a Monday afternoon Douglas County crash that put a motorcycle rider in the hospital.

The crash occurred around 5:35 p.m. as a Harley Davidson being operated by Travis James Moon, 20 from Douglasville, was traveling east on Bankhead Highway and crossing Thornton Rd.

The motorcycle was hit in the rear by a black Dodge Ram truck. The motorcycle was knocked to the ground and Moon was ejected. The truck then left the scene. Moon was taken to Grady Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

 — Alpharetta Patch

Atlantic Station is partnering with Untie Atlanta for an online Tweetup July 11 to discuss the upcoming regional transportation referendum.

Saba Long, press secretary at Citizens for Transportation Mobility, will be on Twitter to answer questions about the referendum from 11 a.m. to noon and again from 7 to 8 p.m. 

Tweeters can send questions to Caleb J. Spivak, Atlantic Station's social media and community manager, who will be moderating the discussion from the mixed-use community's Twitter handle (@AtlanticStation). Answers will come from Saba Long on the Untie Atlanta Twitter handle (@UntieAtlanta). Participants can follow the conversation by using hashtag #UntieATL.
