The Winder News announced in its issue this date in 1935 that a donkey ball game would be held in Winder.

The Winder News announced in its issue April 11, 1935, that a donkey ball game would be held in Winder. Players competed in a baseball game while riding donkeys trained specifically for the entertainment event. Dubbed the “funniest baseball game ever played,” players were to be culled from the American Legion and Kiwanis Club. Admission was $.25 for adults and $.10 for children.
