Target's Black Friday Deal on TV Lures Shoppers

A line of shoppers started forming outside of Target at Barrow Crossing before 5 p.m. Thanksgiving Day.

A Westinghouse 46-inch LCD HDTV originally priced at $549.99 and on sale for $298 had shoppers lining up outside at Barrow Crossing at 3:30 p.m. Thanksgiving Day.

Dacula resident Alex Hicks was the first person in line and was tucked into a sleeping bag he had brought along at about 9:30 p.m., as temperatures dipped into the mid-40s prior to the store’s midnight opening.

Hicks was followed in line by a quintet — Snellville resident Garrett Lussi, Monroe resident Alex Haney, Gainesville residents and siblings Thomas and Kathryn Maxey and Marietta resident Kayla Bly.

Each planned to purchase a TV, while Haney intended to pick up bed sheets and possibly a laptop.

“If I can run to it fast enough,” Haney laughed. “It’s like $188, who can pass it up?”

Haney said she an Lussi are getting married in 23 days and had already planned to buy a TV on Black Friday.

“The TV is a great deal,” Lussi said.
