Site Work Starts on Exchange Center

The development going in between Gateway Station and the movie theater on Exchange Boulevard.

Site work has begun at Exchange Center, a development going in between Gateway Station and the movie theater on Exchange Boulevard.

The properties front Ga. Highway 316 and have been annexed into the city of Winder, which recently posted its city limits sign at the entrance to the roadway, which is off Ga. Highway 81 beside Chick-fil-A.

A sign for Exchange Boulevard says the development is now pre-leasing for retail and office space.

Also coming to the area are a Wendy's, with construction set to begin in August, and a drive-through car wash scheduled to open in spring 2014. Wayne Bartlett with Maynard & Bartlett Realty Group of Winder said he would provide more information when it becomes available.

Bartlett made no comment on a planned Junior Varsity that was announced in October of last year, and no additional information has been provided on the prospect of a Longhorn coming to the area.

A total of 160 acres along Exchange Boulevard are earmarked for grocery, retail, restaurant, office and medical space within Gateway at University Parkway.

Barrow Patch will continue to follow up on what's happening along Exchange Boulevard, and more information will be posted when it is made available.
