News Nearby: First Burger 21 Franchise in Metro Atlanta Area to Be Located in Buford

Burger 21, founded by the owners of The Melting Pot restaurants, has identified Georgia as a priority market for 2013.

The company's first franchised restaurant in the Atlanta area will be located near the Mall of Georgia at 3385 Woodward Crossing Blvd. The restaurant is scheduled to open later this year.

"We are very excited about the growth Burger 21 has experienced in recent months and will be targeting a handful of markets in 2013 that present even more expansion opportunities for the brand," said Dan Stone, vice president of franchise development for Front Burner Brands, management company for Burger 21 in a March 14 press release. "Our brand differentiation has allowed us to be a standout in the better burger segment and has created momentum that will propel growth in new and existing markets throughout the year."

Burger 21 currently has six locations open and 11 franchised restaurants in development along the East Coast. The restaurant bills itself as a "beyond the better burger" fast-casual franchise. For more information, visit the Burger 21 website.
