Home Depot to Close Braselton Center

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Braselton rapid deployment center will close by the end of the year, eliminating 300 local jobs.

Home Depot is closing its Braselton deployment center, a warehouse facility that serves its Southeast stores, according to a report by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The move will eliminate about 300 jobs.

The AJC reports the Braselton center was the first of the Atlanta home improvement company's 19 distribution centers to be built nationwide but was not mechanized when it opened in 2008. The company's other mechanized deployment centers, which are used to replenish stores, are exceeding the company's expectations, according to a spokesman, and the company decided it could operate without the Braselton center.
