Farmington Hills Apartments Now Leasing

The development is off Haymon-Morris Road in Winder.

A "Now Leasing" sign went up Wednesday at Farmington Hills, a 72-unit apartment complex in Winder, while the first resident to occupy one of the 72 units moved in Tuesday.

Property manager Merri Thorn said she started leasing apartments about a month ago and about nine apartments will be occupied by the end of August. Forty units are currently available and the remaining 32 apartments are expected to be move-in ready in mid- to late September.

The complex offers one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments for renters whose incomes fall within specific guidelines — for a family of two the maximum income is $33,300, while the maximum annual income for a household of four is $41,580.

The apartment complex was developed and constructed by Atlanta-based TBG Residential. Amenities include a pool, a playground and a splashpool for children, a resident club house, a picnic pavilion, a computer lab and on-site laundry facilities. Thorn said surveillance cameras have been installed throughout the development.

Tours are available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. For more information, call the leasing office at 770-307-0224.

I not too long ago went to inquire abou the cost and get a look at the apartments themselves and to my surprise, i was not impressed. The two bedroom does not make sense to me at all. Who puts a room by the front door? What if you have children? What would of made sense is putting both rooms on one side but who am i to judge right? The three bedroom makes more sense but still considered small but it's workable. The price ranges are ridiculous especially for Barrow county. This towns is small and alot of people will not pay that even for an apartment. These apartments are not luxury apartments so it makes no sense to me in what they are asking for rent. A two bedroom starts at $695 and the three is $775-$785. But iwhenyou walk into the two bedroom it's just too small. I wonder where these people are from and who came up with this silly floor plan. For future reference these kind of prices require more than just a few pretty light fixtures. I'm truly disappointed!

I think they are gorgeous! It's about time Winder gets decent housing with great amenities. I am very impressed. Affordable wise... Yeah 600-700 can't get an old beat up winder lead/mold infested home for that. And hello no gas, it makes complete sense with the energy efficiency upgrades. Thank you to the developers of Farmington hills... Boo! To those who disregard winders move to upgrading.

I just recently toured the facilities - I immediately fell in love. A 1 bedroom was just the right size for my one yr old daughter & myself. You can beat the prize, especially with all the extras it has to over, i.e, pool - playground - laundry center, plus washer/dryer hookups in EVERY apt.. Pretty awesome if you ask me! Keeping my fingers cross they'll still have one available when the time is right for me to move :)
