The Bethlehem movie theater will play host to a summer movie series geared toward children and their families, and tickets are just $2.

It’s hard to believe that Barrow County School’s summer break will be upon us in just a matter of weeks.

Parents from Auburn to Winder will be scrambling to find fun summer activities to keep their children entertained. Barrow Patch has discovered a great way for parents to keep their cool and spend some dedicated time with the kids — the Carmike Cinemas Kids Summer Movie Series, which begins next month at the in Bethlehem.

During the summer movie series, a number of popular, family-friendly films will be shown throughout the summer months beginning June 7 through Aug. 9, and showtimes will be at 10 a.m. every Thursday.

This year’s series offers the “complete package”. Each attendee will receive admission to the show plus a small 16-ounce drink and small 53-ounce popcorn for just $2. All remaining concession items will be available for purchase at regular prices. It’s hard to beat a buttered popcorn breakfast!

Mark your calendars, Barrow Patch readers and movie fans! The following feature films are scheduled for the Carmike Cinemas Kids Summer Movie Series at Bethlehem’s Gateway Cinemas 12:

I grew up in a Winder where doors were not locked and the town was full of folks shopping! SometimesRead More a moonshiner would get caught or the parking meter would run out of time and one would get a parking ticket by one of the three cops in town! Now I keep a weapon handy because of voices and footsteps on the pavement at night! Where are these people coming from and going to after one o'clock in the morning? Why does it take so long for a policeman to show up after a call is made,if they show up at all? I've watched nice homes on my street turn into dumps. They are rented by owners who are only interested in the money and not the quality of people who are renting. Yeah, I keep a weapon and it's loaded for a thief or prowler! When seconds count a cop is only several minutes away,if at all!
