The month of May marks National Barbecue Month — a great excuse to get out and try some mouth-watering pulled pork, beef brisket, baby back ribs and smoked chicken.
One Barrow County town makes it easy on their residents by boasting two award-winning barbecue restaurants conveniently situated within city limits. Be sure to check out the following eateries the next time you’re in Braselton and have a hankering for good barbecue:
Jack’s Old South is the barbecue brain-child of Myron Mixon, three-time BBQ World Champion and star of TLC’s BBQ Pitmasters. The restaurant chain’s competition barbecue team has won more than 180 grand championships resulting in more than 1,700 total trophies, 30 state championships, including wins in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Virginia, Arkansas, Mississippi, Kentucky, Illinois, South Carolina and Tennessee, Team of the Year eight times and 11 national championships.
With nearly all of their restaurants situated in Southern Mississippi and Louisiana, the Braselton location represents Stonewall’s only Georgia franchise. Diehard fans can still expect to find that same great barbecue and friendly customer service that put the original Picayune restaurant on the map of “good eats”.
