Barrow Movie Theater Set to Open in January
The much-anticipated Carmike Cinemas is set to open its doors Jan. 13, 2012.
Carmike Cinemas off Ga. Highway 316 in Bethlehem is set to open Jan. 13, 2012.
Terrell Mayton, director of marketing for the company, confirmed the date and said a press release would be issued prior to the opening.
The theater, which was , will be outfitted with Carmike’s BigD Experience — a special screen will give viewers a brighter 3D experience as they enjoy supple leather seats and additional upgrades in sound and overall visual experience.

On Dec. 5, 2011, the construction foreman at the site of the theater reported a stack of bent, galvanized steel plates in front of the building and 30 pieces of angle steel had been stolen over the previous weekend.
The approximate value of the steel plates was estimated at $6,936, while the value of the angle steel was estimated at $438.

Tire marks believed to be made by a forklift or skid steer were found on recently installed concrete, according to an incident report. The foreman said the tracks were not made by any equipment on site.
