Barrow County Restaurant Inspections for Oct. 2: Winder Establishment Shows Multiple Repeat Violations, 'Excessive' Mold Build-up in Ice Machine

The Northeast Health District reports the following health inspection scores for Barrow County. 

Pizza Hut No. 4808, 47 E. May St., Winder
Score: 83
Date of inspection: Sept. 18, 2012 
Type of inspection: Routine 
No critical violations
Non-critical violations: 

  • Violation of: 1-2. Person in charge present, demonstrates knowledge and performs duties (Original certificate not posted for Certified Food Safety Manager. Must post original and not a copy. *REPEAT VIOLATION) 
  • Violation of: 4-2B. Food-contact surfaces: cleaned & sanitized (Deflector shield inside ice machine with EXCESSIVE mold build up. Ice machine MUST be emptied, washed, rinsed and sanitized on a routine basis. *REPEAT VIOLATION) 
  • Violation of: 12A. Contamination prevented during food preparation, storage & display (No clean plate advisory posted at the buffett. Clean plate advisory must be posted reminding customers to use a clean plate for every trip to buffett. *REPEAT VIOLATION) 
  • Violation of: 15C. Nonfood-contact surfaces clean Water, Plumbing and Waste (Excessive dust build-up on racks in walk-in cooler.)

  • Violation of: 6-1A. Proper cold holding temperatures (TCS foods held in prep table in temperature danger zone 41 degrees to 138 degrees, i.e. chili relleno, shredded cheese, sliced tomatoes, sour cream. Corrected on site by discarding all TCS foods in temperature danger zone.)
