The Northeast Health District reports the following health inspection scores for Barrow County.

Date of routine inspection: Jan. 24, 2013
Critical violation:

  • Violation of: 2-1B. Hands clean and properly washed (An employee was observed blowing into gloves before donning them. Corrected on site by instructing employee to discard gloves and rewash hands.) 

Non-critical violations:

  • Violation of: 2-2D. Adequate handwashing facilities supplied & accessible (No paper towels at kitchen hand sink. Corrected on site by person in charge replenishing paper towels.) 
  • Violation of: 12B. Personal cleanliness (Visors used by staff prepping food. Top of head must be appropriately covered with hair net or ballcap. *REPEAT VIOLATION) 
  • Violation of: 14C. Single-use/single-service articles: properly stored, used (Single service cups not stored in sleeve or below rim of cup dispenser to protect surface.)

  • Violation of: 4-2A. Food stored covered (Foods not stored covered in reach-in freezer and walk-in cooler.) 
  • Violation of: 4-2B. Food-contact surfaces: cleaned & sanitized (Utensils stored encrusted with food debris in kitchen. *REPEAT VIOLATION) 
  • Violation of: 9-2. Compliance with variance, specialized process and HACCP plan process and HACCP (Sushi rice records not adequately kept as required per variance. Corrected on site by going to using time as a public health control.) 
  • Violation of: 12A. Contamination prevented during food preparation, storage & display
  • Violation of: 12C. Wiping cloths: properly used and stored (Crock pot with rice not stored under sneeze sheilding.) 
  • Violation of: 14C. Single-use/single-service articles: properly stored, used (Single service Soy Sauce containers being reused.) 
  • Violation of: 15A. Food and nonfood-contact surfaces cleanable, properly designed, constructed, and used (Non-NSF equipment in use at salad bar, i.e. household crock pot.)

  • Violation of: 12C. Wiping cloths: properly used and stored (Chlorine in wiping cloth bucket less than 50 ppm. Replenish often to keep solution 50 to 100 ppm for wiping food contact surfaces. Corrected on site by refilling.) 
  • Violation of: 15A. Food and nonfood-contact surfaces cleanable, properly designed, constructed, and used (Cardboard used to drain grease.) 
  • Violation of: 17C. Physical facilities installed, maintained, and clean (Floors under shelving and behind three-compartment sink have dirt and grease build-up. *REPEAT VIOLATION) 
  • Violation of: 17D. Adequate ventilation and lighting; designated areas used (Personal items — coats — stored with single service items.)
