The Northeast Health District reports the following health inspection scores for Barrow County.

Date of routine inspection: Jan. 15, 2013 
Critical violation: 

  •  Violation of: 4-1A. Food separated and protected (Improper meat order on shelves in walk-in cooler. Corrected on site by rearranging meat order — i.e. chicken stored with ground beef and next to ready to eat salami.) 

Non-critical violation: 

  • Violation of: 15A. Food and nonfood-contact surfaces cleanable, properly designed, constructed, and used (Non-NSF equipment installed prior to notifying health department — i.e. two eye burners and two small fryer vats. All equipment must be commercial grade NSF certified.)

  •  Violation of: 4-1A. Food separated and protected (Improper cooler order in reach-in cooler — i.e. raw chicken stored on same shelf with ground beef and raw chorizo stored over cooked rice. Corrected on site by rearranging cooler order.)

  • Violation of: 17B. Garbage/refuse properly disposed; facilities maintained (Dumpster pad heavily soiled with excessive amounts of trash.) 
  • Violation of: 17C. Physical facilities installed, maintained, and clean (Water dripping from ceiling in dining area near restrooms.)

Wow, it all seems so complex. Our kitchen at home violates most of these. I think it just adds to the flavor and original experience. I can say from working in other countries, US food places are very clean.

I've worked in other countries and I find mold, bugs, and rodents to be universally disgusting.
