1st Annual Barrow Youth Action Team's Awards Banquet

The Barrow Youth Action Team (BYAT) will have it's 1st Annual Awards Banquet on Saturday August 25th, at 6:00pm. The theme for the event is, "Rolling Out The Red Carpet to Honor Our Members." BYAT's community partners will also be honored as well. The speaker for this wonderful event will be Yvonee J. Harvey Williams. CEO and founder of Speak2inspire.com. Photography will be provided by Tommy C. Brooks photography, music provided by Kim Armstrong, and transportation for the BYAT members will be provided by Avalon's Limousine Service, dinner will be served as well. Tickets are $20.00. The members are also selling ads for the program books. The prices are as follows: Full page-$60.00, 1/2 page-$30.00, 1/4 page-$20.00, and business cards-$15.00. Program books will be published by TripleSdesigns. Tickets may be purchased from any BYAT member as well. Formal Attire is requested for this event.

I grew up in a Winder where doors were not locked and the town was full of folks shopping! SometimesRead More a moonshiner would get caught or the parking meter would run out of time and one would get a parking ticket by one of the three cops in town! Now I keep a weapon handy because of voices and footsteps on the pavement at night! Where are these people coming from and going to after one o'clock in the morning? Why does it take so long for a policeman to show up after a call is made,if they show up at all? I've watched nice homes on my street turn into dumps. They are rented by owners who are only interested in the money and not the quality of people who are renting. Yeah, I keep a weapon and it's loaded for a thief or prowler! When seconds count a cop is only several minutes away,if at all!
