Time to get my own insurance

My husband and I recently got married, and my dad just informed me last week that I can no longer be covered under his auto insurance.  I have been pretty intimidated by all of the options, and nervous about the cost.  What should I look for in an auto insurance company?  And how do I know the pricing is decent?
