Pets of the Week: Two Shepherd Mixes

These pets are available for adoption.

These two shepherd mixes are awaiting their forever homes at Barrow County Animal Control. Read the descriptions to see if one of these pets is right for your family.

  • A tan, female shepherd mix, approximately 1 to 2 years old. She weighs in at 39.3 pounds. Shelter staff members say she is easily scared and shy, so she would need someone who is willing to work with her. She loves attention. She was found running at large, so animal control has no background information on her. She is afraid of leashes and becomes dead weight when a leash is put on her. "She is one of our most loving dogs," animal control staffer Kimberly Perez said. Contact the shelter before 5 p.m. Tuesday if you are interested in this dog.
  • A black, white and tan, male shepherd mix, about 6 to 9 months old. He weighs in at 29.8 pounds. He's slightly shy but has a great personality. He was found running loose, so animal control has no background information on him.

The adoption fee for all cats and dogs is $100. The fee includes spay or neuter, a physical exam, a fecal exam, de-worming, a rabies vaccine, a distemper/parvo vaccine and micro-chipping.

For more information on these or other pets, call the shelter at 770-307-3012. Shelter hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
