Pets of the Week: Tabby Cat, Shepherd Mix

Find the next furry member of your family here.

A shepherd mix and a cat are awaiting their forever homes at Barrow County Animal Control. Read the descriptions to see if one of these pets is right for your family.

  • A white and tan-red, male shepherd mix, approximately 2 to 3 years old. He weighs in at 37 pounds. He is shy at first, but full of love. He is good on a leash. Owners will need to keep him groomed as he sheds a lot. He was brought into the shelter, so animal control has no background information on him. "He is such a sweetheart," animal control staffer Kimberly Perez said.
  • A gray and white, female domestic tabby cat, about 9 to 12 months old. She is a very loving cat. She is calm, content, and outgoing. She does not like loud noises and fast movements. She does OK with other cats but not so well with dogs. One look at her and she'll have you hooked with her soft purring and sweet face. She was brought into the shelter, so animal control has no background information on her.

The adoption fee for all cats and dogs is $100. The fee includes spay or neuter, a physical exam, a fecal exam, de-worming, a rabies vaccine, a distemper/parvo vaccine and micro-chipping.

For more information on these or other pets, call the shelter at 770-307-3012. Shelter hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
