Pets of the Week: Furry, Feline Friends

These cats are looking for great forever homes.

This abandoned tabby and sassy Siamese are awaiting their forever homes at Barrow County Animal Control. Read the descriptions to see if one of these pets is right for your family.

  • Male, domestic short-haired cream tabby cat, approximately 2 to 3 years old. Shelter staff members say he is good with people of all ages. He seems to like cats and dogs. He was rescued from an abandoned home, so animal control has no background information.
  • Female Siamese mix, approximately 3 to 4 years old. She is declawed and possibly already spayed. "She is very affectionate and friendly with people, but doesn't like other cats," animal control staffer Michelle Beckemeyer said. "She could probably live with a laid-back dog who wouldn't bother her." She has reddish eyes and loves attention. Animal control has no background information on her.

The adoption fee for all cats and dogs is $100. The fee includes spay or neuter, a physical exam, a fecal exam, de-worming, a rabies vaccine, a distemper/parvo vaccine and microchipping.

For more information on these or other pets, call the shelter at 770-307-3012. Shelter hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
