Pets of the Week: Bring Home a Beagle or Boxer/Lab Mix

Find the next furry member of your family here.

A beagle and boxer/lab mix are awaiting their forever homes at  at Barrow County Animal Control. Read the descriptions to see if one of these pets is right for your family.

  • A brown and white, male beagle, approximately 4 to 5 years old. He weighs in at 34 pounds. He is shy but warms up easily. He was dropped off at the shelter, so animal control has no  background  information on him. "He's very shy, so he would need someone who would be  willing to work with him and give him lots of love," animal control staffer Kimberly Perez said.
  • A black, male boxer/lab mix, approximately 4 to 5 months old. Shelter staff  members say he is a friendly canine. He is good with kids and other dogs. "He needs a kid to wear him out," animal control staffer Michelle  Beckemeyer said. "He will play for hours." This dog will need to be house trained. He was rescued on a county road, so animal control has no background information on him. Please contact the shelter before 5 p.m. April 19 if you are interested in this pet.

The adoption fee for all cats and dogs is $100. The fee includes spay or neuter,  a physical exam, a fecal exam, de-worming, a rabies vaccine, a distemper/parvo  vaccine and micro-chipping.

For more information on these or other pets, call the shelter at 770-307-3012. Shelter hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
