Pets of the Week: Adopt a Dog or Cat

Find the next furry member of your family here.

A hound mix and a cat are awaiting their forever homes at Barrow County Animal Control. Read the descriptions to see if one of these pets is right for your family.

  • A black, white and tan male hound mix, approximately 3 months old. He weighs in at 14 pounds. He is shy at first but full of energy and loves attention. He was brought into the shelter, so animal control has no background information on him. "He's just a normal, everyday, happy puppy," animal control staffer Kimberly Perez said.
  • A multi-color, female domestic tabby cat, about 3 years old. She is a real beauty and already spayed. She is calm, content and to herself. She does not do well with other cats.

The adoption fee for all cats and dogs is $100. The fee includes spay or neuter, a physical exam, a fecal exam, de-worming, a rabies vaccine, a distemper/parvo vaccine and micro-chipping.

For more information on these or other pets, call the shelter at 770-307-3012. Shelter hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
