Moms Talk: Gay-Straight Alliance
Join this week's discussion on what could be a sensitive subject.
A local teen is trying up to start a gay-straight alliance at Apalachee High School. The teen says, “I don’t want to start this movement because I think we’re backward, I want to start it because I think we’re ready for it … This is about rights and awareness — not anger or vengeance.”
As a local parent, I want to know what my children are participating in at school, I want to have a say-so in what clubs/activities are available to my children. I also want my children to be open-minded about other people, as in race and sexuality. I would love to hear your thoughts about this subject.
