Fresh Crop of Community Yard Sales Scheduled for 2012

In the days following the seasonal gift exchange as the residents of Statham begin to put away their holiday decorations and strategically position all of their wonderful new treasures throughout their homes, they may find they have several old treasures on hand they might be ready to part with.

With the launch of 2012, so follows a new round of community yard sales in Statham. Hosted along Railroad Street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. the first and third Saturday of each month, community yard sales are a terrific way for Stathamites to pass gently used clothing, knick-knacks and furniture items along to their neighbors. Local hagglers, bargain hunters, kitsch connoisseurs and yard sale specialists can all plan to have a field day in search of great finds.

There is no charge to participate, simply arrive early to grab a great space and bring your own table, chair and items to sell. The city of Statham does ask that participants clean up their spaces before they leave at the end of the event. This month’s community yard sales take place Saturday, Jan. 7, and Saturday, Jan. 21.
