Five Things to Do This Weekend: April 30

Here are our picks for events and activities to check out this weekend.

1. 

  • When and where: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Washington Farms in Watkinsville
  • Why go: To enjoy farm activities, unique arts and crafts vendors, festival foods and live entertainment, as well as pick delicious strawberries 
  • Pricing: $8 per person for ages 2 and older

2. 

  • When and where: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in downtown Auburn
  • Why go: To honor man’s best friend and see therapy dogs, K-9 police dogs,         demonstrations and participate in the “Blessing of the Dogs”
  • Pricing: Free

  • When and where: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Furr Lane Community Center in Statham
  • Why go: To see sheep shearing, crafters and demonstrators, including the Lazy B Farm Knit and Spin Group
  • Pricing: $10 per carload, $15 per passenger van and $30 per bus

4. 

  • When and where: 11:30 a.m. Saturday on the 300 block of College Avenue in Athens
  • Why go: To ride in these races with other children ages 5 to 14 and receive prize packages and recognition for your achievement 
  • Pricing: Free without T-shirt and $10 with
