Job title: Oxyfuel/plasma operator
Description: Olympic Steel in Winder is hiring a Oxyfuel/plasma operator to work third Shift. This position operates an oxyfuel/plasma burner to cut material as specified by work order and customer needs. The operator oversees the burning process, including evaluating work orders, properly and efficiently setting up the machine, performing all cutting functions according to drawings, continuously monitoring/inspecting job for quality, packaging material per customer requirements and cleaning the work area. The oxyfuel/plasma operator is responsible for satisfying customer requirements of quality, quantity and delivery in a safe manner while maximizing productivity.
Qualifications: Applicants must have previous experience operating an oxyfuel/plasma burner, a high school diploma or GED, must be mechanically inclined, production-oriented and safety- and quality-conscious. Basic math skills are required, as well as a general knowledge of crane operation and ancillary lifting devices. A working knowledge of general computer programs is strongly preferred. Applicants must be self-motivated and detail-oriented team players.
