Barrow County Habitat for Humanity to Dedicate Completed Home Today

The public is invited to tour the home, the 14th project for the local, nonprofit organization.

Barrow County Habitat for Humanity invites the public to check out its latest project, the , this weekend as it presents the keys to the home to its new owner. 

An open house will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the three-bedroom, one-bath home at 921 Lochwolde Lane in Bethelehem, and the key presentation will begin at 4:15. Today's dedication will be followed by an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday for tours. 

A group of volunteers joined the family that will be moving into the completed house — Susan Christian and her daughter Tabitha — and symbolically .

The project was halted a day after the ceremonial groundbreaking, when the county planning department was informed plans for the home did not include a garage. The board of directors for Barrow County Habitat for Humanity decided to add a garage to the home plan. Volunteers have since worked to complete the home.
