Team Lanier Tech wins big at SkillsUSA Georgia competition in Atlanta!

LTC’s team was made up of 29 students, and 15 of the 29 students who participated won a medal. This is the most gold medals and total medals that Lanier Tech students have ever won at the state level. The Gold Medal winners will represent Lanier Tech and the State of Georgia at the National SkillsUSA competition in Kansas City in June.

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel. SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations.

Dr. Ray Perren, President of Lanier Technical College, said, "All of our students represented Lanier Tech very, very well at the state competition. I am very proud of all the students who participated. I also want to thank all of the advisors who worked with our students. They are Jerrhonda Buffington, Jayna Durden, Johnna Connell, Jim Mealor, Darrell Fletcher, Jackie Mann, Mike Scmidt, Sam Ajilani, Jennifer Carpenter, and Tom Gaddie."
