Barrow E911 Coordinator Receives Statewide Award

The Emergency Management Association of Georgia (EMAG) presented the President's Award at its November meeting.

A Barrow County Emergency Services (BCES) employee has been honored for his work with the Emergency Management Association of Georgia (EMAG).

William Wright, E911 Coordinator for BCES, received the President's Award at the November EMAG meeting.

"William is very deserving of this recognition for his countless hours and service to this organization," said BCES Interim Chief John Skinner in a released statement. "He has gone well above his responsibilities with EMAG and we are very proud of him for his service."

Wright has served as EMAG treasurer for seven years and handles all registrations for the annual emergency management summit and training session which is attended by hundreds of emergency management personnel from across the state.

EMAG, an association of emergency management professionals, has three goals: assist members in their efforts to save lives and protect property, provide a forum through which members can discuss current issues in the emergency management field, and serve as a policy advisory board to local emergency management agencies and to the Georgia Emergency Management Agency.

Also during the November meeting, BCES Emergency Management Coordinator Penny Clack was elected to serve a second term as the Area 1 Chairperson (the liaison between the EMAG executive board and Area 1).
