Northeast Georgia Chapter of Autism Society of America is starting again by holding the first meeting of 2013 "Meet, Greet, and Share" on Saturday, January 26th, 2013, 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. at Barnett Shoals Elementary School, 3220 Barnett Shoals Road Athens, GA 30605. We would like to invite all individuals, families, educators, caregivers, professionals, and volunteers to take this opportunity to meet other families, make new friends, and set a new direction for the Chapter. More About Barnett Shoals Elementary School
The outstanding staff and parents of students at Barnett Shoals want children to become not only productive members of society but also good environmental stewards and citizens. The school celebrates and promotes environmental awareness and responsibility. On the campus are a butterfly garden and a rain garden. The friendly staff works hard to help children become "all they can be." Of the 45 faculty members, 35 have advanced degrees. There's also a collaborative teaching program involving UGA students from the College of Agriculture and Environmental Science.
