Last month, Barrow Patch reported a request for proposals was issued bycity of Winder as the municipality sought qualified architects and engineers for the renovation design of an existing 23,500-square-foot building in the downtown area. Located at 25 E. Midland Ave., the building once served as a People’s Bank Operations Center. In June, Barrow Patch reported that the City of Winder was requesting proposals from companies interested in assuming responsibility for Utility Bill Printing and Mailing Services. This is no small task, as Winder currently provides water, sewer, garbage, natural gas and other miscellaneous services for a population of approximately 35,000 citizens. The city of Statham is pleased to offer competitive youth tackle football and competitive cheerleading for local youth aged 4 through 13 thanks to the new Barrow County association, Statham Spartans Sports. The Georgia Department of Transportation has been busy working with the town of Braselton on improvements to roads and highways in the town.
