Booing God, Saying 'Sorry' and Other Democratic Actions This Week

Last night, I was at the American Legion Post 251 in Duluth, presenting them with a painting entitled, “Their Sacrifice, Our Gratitude.”  I was in the presence of greatness.  I was in quiet fear that I should even be in the same room with these heroes during their private meeting. These men fought for our American ideas. These were the men I often raise funds for and speak in support of.  I felt unworthy to be at their inner meeting. They were leaders when their country asked for their lives and youth.  Now years later, they still gather together as a band of brothers to still support their country now in a different way.

They welcomed us.  After giving me the specifics of the meeting that we were involved in, they made serious mention that when I got up to speak and passed by the American flag, on the way to the microphone, I was to place my hand over my heart, in respect of our American flag. I was unaware of this protocol.  I will never forget their deep resolve of them wanting me to realize that our flag was worthy of respect, even at a meeting in little Duluth, Georgia, on a Tuesday night at 7:30 pm.  Respect the American flag when I pass by it, respect this Lady of Liberty, for she stands as a testimony to the lives and cost of our freedom that these very men fought for.

I saw Miss Liberty being town apart and battered on foreign soil this morning.  Where was the respect from our president when that very same symbol of America was attacked this week? Nowhere. Where was Team 6 of the Seals?  Let’s face it, Obama took credit for Seal Team 6’s killing of Bin Laden.  So, will he also take credit for the deaths of four Americans and the destruction of two of our embassies and the desecration of our American flag?

When the Egypt embassy was attacked, what did our leader say to our country and to the world?  Then, when the unnecessary death of the top US diplomat in Libya died, where was our leader?  Where is the president? What does the free nation leader have to say about this murder?  In the vein of a true leader, what does he do?  He sends out Hillary to say “Sorry!”  Her own words speak loudly about the lack of leadership in Washington when she said, “I ask myself how could this happen?" That one sentence said it all, for Hillary knows to what ends her own husband went through to keep us safe during his term. Obama has no foreign policy to speak of.  Our allies are demanding meetings about world events and he is "Unable to work it into his schedule.” For those who yelled, “Bin Laden is dead and GM is alive,” as a reason for voting or Obama in November, now what do you tell yourselves to quiet your fears?

Obama has simply refused to engage in anything other than an apology tour and again he retreats to an apology when crimes are committed against our fellow citizens.  Last time we had a leader of one of our embassy killed was when Carter was in office.  Cater was another liberal that believed that “playing nice” would be our world foreign policy.  Do we really want to go back to hostage days?

Back to Hillary. Let’s send out Hillary to calm the reporters and speak for America. Send out Hillary. The media was searching for the American answer to the last 48 hours of murder and destruction. Who would step up and fill the void? We were waiting to hear strong words against those who would attack our own,but all he said was we feel your pain for religious freedom, nothing about our flag or our embassy.  Next morning we wake up to another embassy being attacked but, this time four fellow citizens are now dead.  It was only after Romney’s press conference did our country hear words from the four-year long leadership vacuum that is Obama, our current president.  Obama still is hooked on this as a “religious event” and not an American security issue. He still does not get it. Please go see 2016 before you cast your vote. It is a movie that would have predicted the actions of Obama today.

Finally, a man of leadership qualities and fortitude did speak up. He stood firm in his words about the violence against America. It was not Obama, it was presidential candidate, Romney.  It was only after Romney spoke that Obama finally faced our nation, better late than never will be the rally cry of the democrats.  He miss spoke with out all the facts, nice try.  We were waiting. We wanted to be reassured that he was doing something, anything to stop the violence.  Bush directed all planes to be grounded, taken right out of the sky, to the nearest airport, immediately.  Obama, he finally ordered the beefing up the security around the world. DUH!  It is 9/11 week, why wasn’t that directive sent out last week? In light of the changes in the world over the last year, WHY would you not send out directives earlier or at the very least send in the Marines!  Oh yeah, Obama sent them in today, a day late and four lives short!

Let me state that when American citizens, working at an American embassy are murdered, when our Ambassador is murdered, when our flag is torn apart, and our enemy’s flag is flying over our governmental compounds, I want more than a second day apology from the “president!”  Why did he even bring Hillary out to stand beside him? Why indeed? She had already given her speech but it did not quiet the press and so he had to speak and speak he did. Listen to him mumble over his words about our country.  He is firm about the religious freedom and less resolved about our America.

When will my fellow Americans open their eyes to the vast changes to the Democratic party.  When you look at some of actions from the Democratic convention delegates, as they booed God and couple that with the the 911 embassy attacks, one can only wonder what has become of the Democratic party.  The horse is out of the barn and now he "tries" to act like a president.  Leadership is born within times of trial. Obama did not use this trial well.  A community organizer does not make a president.

His entire presidency has been about apologizing and saying, “Well it could have been worse!”  Really?  Worse?  So we wake up today and guess what - it is worse!  He dismisses Israel president’s request for a meeting, on the major issue of Iran’s nuclear program.  Treating our allies in a demeaning manner will only bring anger and fear to them.  They do not have a straight idea of our place in the world anymore.  Obama’s followers are lacking in the ability to judge America’s place of leadership in the world. Come to think of it, really we are no longer the leaders of the world, we are a scared little boy standing in fear of the bullies that are attacking us.  When Bush and Reagan were in office, they understood the saying, “Walk softly and carry a big stick.”  Obama manta is “Say your sorry and cower!”  Poor example of a leader and yet many sing his praises.

The Obama apology tour has led us to this place in our history.  What is the next step?  Everyone knows you don’t deal with terrorist, you strengthen you resolve and move forward.  If you are a Christian, then you should be questioning your leader and your party actions this past week.  Booing God?  Really?  Booing God, I never thought I would live long enough to see that in our country.  Now if you call yourself a Democrat, I just shake my head in disbelief that you would continue to follow this party. I often wonder, HOW the citizens of Germany allowed Hitler to gain power and commit such crimes, but then again I never thought I would see an American boo God; not once, not twice, but three times and on national TV! Check yourself- do you fly a flag outside of your home and if so is it Old Glory? God Bless America and God help us all.

RE: "Where is the president? What does the free nation leader have to say about this murder? In the vein of a true leader, what does he do?"

These questions are answered by President Obama in his remarks at the White House today. Click on the link to watch the video: http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2012/09/12/president-obama-discusses-attack-benghazi-libya

Here's the link to the video showing Secretary Clinton making her remarks (currently on the home page of the state department's site): http://www.state.gov/

Also, contrary to what is written above, Obama did not go an apology tour: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/election-2012/wp/2012/08/30/factchecker-obama-did-not-go-on-apology-tour/

Nor did he snub Netanyahu: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/sep/11/obama-binyamin-netanyahu-us-visit?newsfeed=true

Seriously, the level of vitriol and misinformation in this piece is off the charts. Couldn't we mourn together as Americans for just one day before kicking the political attacks over these deaths into high gear?

C.J. The problem with your thinking is while they did speak softly and carry a big stick...they had no problem using the big stick and the world knew it. What was President Bush's response to 9/11? He simply stated that the US would no longer have a distinction between terrorists and those who harbored them. Saddam? Gone. Taliban? No longer running afganistan.

What actions has Obama taken? Just like with Iran...talk. Tough talk can be effective but when the world knows you don't have the character to back it up you're just wasting good oxygen.

btw...loved how it was leaked that we were sending over drones to fly east Libya to look for the camps of those involved. And we needed to know this why? Might as well paint the drones in floursent paint.

I remember Presidents of old would put everything down to honor an ally of another country that came to our country. Sorry CJ, "too busy" is not an excuse. Israel took it as a snub. They will go unilateral and they do have NUKES. This is IMPORTANT.
He's got better things to do like campaign and go on David Letterman. He wasn't at the last intel briefing on Iran and nukes and word around the world is that Iran has said that if Israel strikes them, they will strike Israel and the US. Sounds important enough to me. But then, when has bho ever put his country first?

If Israel goes "unilateral" because Netanyahu gets his feelings hurt, then the world is in more danger than we know. His whining about not getting a face-to-face meeting on demand is reminiscent of Newt Gingrich's whining about his seat on Air Force One.

Petty is the word that comes to mind.

Yeah C.J. the leader of a nation facing blunt destruction spoken by a leader of a nation in the region trying to develop nuclear weapons...Yeah...the request from the leader of the threatened nation asking for a meeting while both leaders are in the same city...yeah that's petty...right. Put another quarter in the machine and try again.

Here's a quote from one of the links you provided CJ:

"It was very, very clear that the Israelis had lost their patience with the administration," Rogers told a Detroit radio station. "We've had sharp exchanges with other heads of state and other things, in intelligence services and other things, but nothing at that level that I've seen in all my time where people were clearly that agitated, clearly that worked up about a particular issue, where there was a very sharp exchange. Rogers said Israel will probably bomb Iran if the White House does not lay down firm limits for Iran."

But campaigning is more important. Nooooo, he need to do his #@%& job!

Netanyahu is wrong. Obama did lay down firm limits on Iran--

"As president of the United States, I don't bluff... when the United States says it is unacceptable for Iran to have a nuclear weapon, we mean what we say." -- President Obama

http://articles.cnn.com/2012-03-02/politics/politics_obama-iran-israel_1_nuclear-weapon-iran-nukes-nuclear-program?_s=PM:POLITICS

Netanyahu wants Obama to set DIFFERENT firm limits. Look, Romney has made it clear that he would outsource American's foreign policy to Israel. If you're cool with that, then Romney is your man. Personally, I don't think that any American president should kowtow to any foreign country's demands, including Israel, but that's just me.

HAHAHAHAHAHA...C.J. where is the FIRM limit. This is akin to me saying "it is unacceptable for C.J. to eat at McDonalds". Obviously I have no way of enforcing that and we both know it. Obama walks the line of a man with zero backbone. Lets say Iran gets a nuclear weapon...Obama is right...it IS unacceptable...okay...what does he **DO**? That's what a limit is...exceed it and something completely known happens. Obama has no backbone at all. and I do mean ZERO. Iran knows it and they are calling his bluff...actually they don't really give a hoot in hell what he says.

Tammy, perhaps you'd do a better job as president? I'd like to suggest that you have no idea what that job entails. And it's not just one man making these decisions - there is a House and Senate giving input, and they often cancel each other out.
Remember how much grief Bush got for bringing us into war with false intelligence? Stop spreading false information yourself.

Like I said, I have never thought I would live to see this day in our country. Check those dates about how Clinton let things go on and on and on without any recourse until some another President had to clean up his lack of leadership while standing upon the rubble of the twin towers early in his presidency. It is a problem that so many still see their leader as able. He was in Vegas instead of putting our country on high alert. He has the nerve to come out and "list" his places where he had been as if to say,"Hey everybody I did the least required and then I got back to the important job- raising money to keep this job! He is just so sad, so so sad. The word God was taken out of the Democratic platform, he is the leader of the democratic party, he knew it was removed. When others complained, his party comes up with the "always easy to use" that it was an "oversight!" He is an oversight. Taking God out of this country is what the Muslin want to see happen. Keep you eyes wide open Democrats because the roosters are coming home to roost.

Take it up with our founders. The word God was taken out of the Constitution. Here's what it does say though--

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

AND

"The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but NO RELIGIOUS TEST SHALL EVER BE REQUIRED as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States."

CJ, you're so busy trying to defend your precious President, you're missing the fact that Israel is kind of all by itself over there. Surrounded by countries that want nothing more than to wipe it off the map. The only reason it's still there is because it's been our ally. Now we have a President that seems to show more concern for our enemies than our allies. They're not happy, nor should they be. Iran is building nukes, and Israel is asking for help. He comes over here and wants to meet with our 'leader.' Who should already be making time for him, but some TV appearance or stomping to keep his job is more important. And you call Netanyahu's reaction "petty"? Really? Seriously, have you lost your mind? Israel is going to go to war, because they don't see a lot of other alternatives, and it will pretty much rest in the lap of this President. I'm sure he and you guys will find some way to blame Bush on this one, though.....

I'm curious about one unrelated thing, though - when Romney wins in November and our economy is up and running better by the first part of next year, will that be Romney's or Obama's doing? Will the first four years of Romney's term be blamed on Obama - good or bad?

Blaming? Look. No president is responsible for any one thing alone. Each president makes decisions and the subsequent ones build on them. The info I provided were from a very good source and factual, and the question was asked what led up to 911. The decision that Clinton had to make were hard. No one wants to make hard decisions. Bush may not have made the ones he did had we not gotten attacked. Although, the intelligence gathered thus far was passed onto him. I would hope that he would have said that if taking saadam out needs to get done, that he would have done it. Too many of those decisions were made based on politics. The best president is one who listens to our military and respects them, but the final word comes from the top.
I posted those because, speaking of blame, so many are quick to blame Bush when they need to see that we can pick up or drop the ball along the way and those actions have consequences. It would be wonderful if our commanders in chief were former military. GWB was the only one who had any military service in the past few presidents, and he was extremely respectful of our military, went to all of the intelligence briefings (unlike bho who gets his on paper and then goes to talk to David Letterman). I just want us to elect someone who knows the importance of his position. I come from a long line of military family's as well, who have served in the past three major events. I work with a man who was military intelligence for 30 years also.

President Obama has shown his usual calm but firm leadership in this situation and I'm confident he will pursue those who perpetrated the murder of Chris Stevens and other U. If you give him credit for killing Bin Ladin & he is also responsible for the lack of security around the world, & for three days of attacks. "Say Sorry & Cower" He did not speak. The vacuum was loud. A true leader spoke up & the only thing the Democrats could say was, "Romney spoke out of turn-he is a hot head!' No, the hot heads were those killing our own citizens in Lybia. He was a day late and 4 deaths short! How many times did we hear from Bush's strong administration,"Code Orange or Traveler's Alert or that our embassy were on high alert? Always & the democrats said Bush was being an alarmist for political reasons. Where is obama? Fundraising. Weak should never be mistaken for calm. I am glad people are finally seeing the democratic party for what it is; God hating, country weakening, money selfish, double talkers, hand stretched out takers. I once had a conservation with a democratic 68 year old man about $$. I heard all about how the rich need to be giving their fair share and how the poor needed more. "Ok, I give up!" I stated. Then I asked him how much more money was he willing to give each week out of his paycheck? He quickly replied, "NOT MY PAYCHECK, the rich man's paycheck!" Everyone see the one above him as rich! RE: "Booing God!"

Cynthia,

You have repeated this assertion, ad nauseam, with no context or explanation whatsoever. You remind me of a character from a Lewis Carroll poem who stated, "I have said it thrice: What I tell you three times is true."

I'm a Christian. Millions of people who vote Democratic are Christian, and even among the few agnostics and atheists that I've known, nobody I know would "boo God" or condone such behavior. If you want to explain why you think that Democratic delegates did this (I think I know which incident you're referring to), then I'll be happy to explain why you're wrong. Of course, I don't expect to change your mind, but at least the facts will serve to reinforce the level to which you are divorced from reality.

In the meantime, please feel free to refer to my comment above highlighting what the Constitution has to say about religion.

Everyone knows there is a chain of command but when the man at the top cares little for his own country's safety and send out a woman to take his hear, well that said volumes about that sissy man. Now he will have to over react to show the 20% he can be trusted. We have been safe since 911! Obama has been so weak that to our embassy we are now a target and the enemy is hitting the bulls eye. Weak men make for weak countries. Ask any military man and they will say we are now weaker than when Bush left office and we are getting weaker without a solid foreign policy. We need a strong, forward thinking, business man in the White House , not a weak, socialist thinking, community organizer in the highest office in the land. When Obama said I AM THE PRESIDENT, choose me again I just LAUGHED! The best way to determine a man's future success it to look at his past accomplishments. I've lived through Obams's "accomplishments" and an ready to turn the page to reveal a new leader for our now weak financial laughed at, attacked country! Won't you join me? Gee BC, thanks for the post announcing that your president reacted to the death of a great leader to bad he did not do it when the past few presidents would have done it BEFIRE not AFTER! The horse is already out of the barn. you should be happy that this did not turn into another HOSTAGE situation like it did when the last WEAK democratic president was trying to play nice with the thugs of the world! All the newspaper articles in the world will never be enough to change the day of death and destruction that was September 11 2012. Obama has blood on his hands and he sends out a woman to clean up for him. Yet, did we expect any less of him? God Bless America and God Bless those who are not trying to take God out of our country at any level.

Cynthia, your post is vitriolic, misinformed, and 10-cent journalism. I wish I hadn't read it; that's 10 minutes I won't get back. Perhaps a bit of research on what it's like to BE president instead of second-guessing the actions of not just the president himself but a whole team would benefit you.
By the way, I'm an independent voter and can see good (and bad) on both sides. I'll bet you were one of the ones second-guessing President Bush when he sent troops to Afghanistan too. All you're doing here is making our country look bad.
And CJ is right - our founding fathers insisted on freedom of religion in our country and the separation of church and state. Believe in God all you want (I do too) but don't make it an issue if we don't bring it up in government.

Along with the latest movie star promoting his latest movie and the latest band trying to get some albums sold is another guest appearing on the boob tube tonight, that's right the weakest man in America, your very own President Sorry! Hey everybody, I am your everyday kinda, hang out with you, president! Why else would I be here when our citizens are being killed around the world. Yep, that right, He is on Leno or maybe Lettermen, when he ought to be cleaning up this nasty little international mess. Yep, that was a perfect example of the mindset of this president. We all know Jay will not ask any hard questions like the press core. How about leave the Leno show and Las Vegas out of your schedule, for a bit, as you deal with our nation's problems and issues. No, that is what a strong leader would be doing but a weak president heads to Las Vegas and spends time with Jay Leno! For the life of me I can not see why anyone would place their life in this fool's hands. Can any demo out there please tell me WHY and WHAT this weak link has done for this country to make you want to vote for four more years. Please tell me how you justify your party taking God out of your platform and then booing when it was put back in? This country was developed because of religious freedom and as One Nation Under God. Just help me understand how you can watch your party booing on national TV and still stand with the party.

Well, Cynthia, At 2:20 PM, as flag draped coffins that carried the bodies of U.S. Embassy attack victims were being carried by Marines, President Obama's twitter feed was hawking campaign sweatshirts.
Plus, evidence is emerging that we were warnd about this 48 hours before it happened. Might have been a good time to get the Marines covering our people on sovereign soil, and maybe getting those vital documents out before they were seized? Oh wait...got to get David Letterman taped before he goes on the air. Don't mean to be facetious, but I just disrespect him so much. Just when I don't think it can get much worse, it does.
I 'm thinking about starting a blog called, "Peace through strength" and discuss what is the best ways to approach foreign policy. Be thinking....

Tammy, It is great to see women paying attention to the failed presidency of Obama. As a women we have always watched demeanor, body language and have looked for people that just don't measure up or seem a little off, so we have safeguard our children. Obama fits the bill. He is a smooth talker and certain personalities just follow blindly behind his type with no review of his true actions. The demos will never go see 2016, or see the booing of God, or the lack of leadership because they have their identity attached to obama and if they allow themselves to see reality then they also have to admit their first voting for him 4 years ago and then by not voting for him again they would again have to admit they have made a mistake. So we continue to hear the He's Our Man! battle cry because they are not mature enough to admit they have voted for a man that lied to them. Sad. I have met former supporters that have said, "man he had me and I voted for him but I just can't follow his crap anymore." I have to say, I admire them for admitting their mistake and trying to make amends. One couple lost their jobs and house and they are just in anger that he did not deliver the goods" that he promised and that he just keep saying, "Forward!" Forward to the poor house, higher gas prices, and more unemployment! He is the president of 'Well, it could have been worse!" Man, what a line to feed people! The lowest mindset of all, "It could have been worse!" 4 more years and it will be!

CJ - If you listen to the Democratic National Convention it clearly makes a motion whether to amend their platform for the convention. The one subject was whether to bring Jerusalem as capital of Israel and God in their messages. The vote was split yet needed a majority to enact the amendment. When the moderator said it passed there more many boo's in the crowd.

I am so amazed that our country can go from #1 to #7 in the past 24 months in Global Competitiveness and we have so many people that are blind to this.

"If I don't decrease the debt I should be a one term president". Obama. He knew what he was up against coming in. (I'll leave space here for "Bush's problems were far greater than expected) Yet he takes us to over $5trillion debt and says i need another 4 to make it right. No other business would allow a leader to stick around for a second.

It is not blame. IT IS FACT! It is not hate! It is attempting to protect a great country against bad leaders. If you were working in a company and the leader was not leading you in the right direction (ie. losing money and risking you losing your job) it would make you very uncomfortable and you would want either a new leader or a new job. Same here. I want a new leader.

RE: "The vote was split yet needed a majority to enact the amendment."

Stan,

You have your facts wrong. The Chair needed a 2/3rds vote to pass that amendment, not a simple majority as you claimed. If you watched and listened to the vote, then you could see that they clearly didn't have it. However, after unsuccessfully trying three times to get to 2/3rds, the Chair declared victory anyway. Any objective observer watching that vote could tell that people were booing because of the Chair's decision to pass the amendment, despite the fact that it didn't have the votes. In other words, they were booing how the vote was handled, not the contents of the amendment.

Now if you want to discuss why some Democrats voted against those platform changes, then that's another discussion. However, believing and repeating the twisted inference that the negative reaction to the Chair's decision to pass an amendment without the votes was akin to "booing God," is, in fact, hate.

Incidentally Stan, if you are curious as to why some might oppose the portion of the amendment that puts God into the Democratic platform, refer to the Constitution's references to religion. In addition, consider the letter that Thomas Jefferson wrote to the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802--

"Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between Church & State."

Of course, when mentioning Letterman, he adds to the long list of complaints about teleprompters, flag pins, hand not on heart, "booing God" (whatever that means?), birth certificate, Kenyan father, Barack HUSSEIN Obama, Hawaii, Muslim sympathizer, terrorist sympathizer, amateur, community organizer, anti-colonialist,...

President Obama is likely to be re-elected. If so, his re-election will not be in spite of such hate; it will be, in part, BECAUSE of such hate.

Fortunately, most Americans can't fathom the level of insanity that comes from Fox News (i.e., Republican) pundits, talk radio hosts, and their devoted viewers and listeners who parrot it all in comments sections like this one. Fortunately, most Americans will have nothing to do with it.

Our President IS obligated to "jump" whenever there is a matter involving the security of any of our closest allies. It is the only way to show our allies our unwavering support. Without that, naturally, our alliance is worth nothing. Israel is under a very real threat from a defiant aggressor. Men of action support their friends as quickly as possible without hesitation.
I believe our President needs to man-up and show Israel the same kind of support we would expect from them if we needed them.

Umm, Tammy. Show me a newspaper that said that Democratic delegates "booed God." In fact, you got that from the likes of Fox (Republican) News, talk-radio, and right-wing websites. No objective viewer could have seen the vote and come to that conclusion.

Of course it will look like I am "all over the place" as I am responding to many replies. That said, I have been at this blogging for quite some time & have noticed that when a liberal comments, they do the same thing. First things is they don't address the issue. Second, they will name call & call attention to spelling/grammar errors ( I always make sure there is SOMETHING for them to gripe about in my writing), I suggest all do the same because if you don't the demo will have NOTHING to comment on. Third, demos will always ask for facts & then will not accept them using comments like,"well that is from a right winged TV or newspaper of commentator as if the facts can come from their side! LOL Fourth, when two persons see the same thing both parties will take from a speech or movie an entirely different view as they are seeing it from their own perspective. I write for many reasons but one is to see just how off base the left is when they are seeing the same things as the rest of the country. They will say, "NO THEY WEREN'T BOOING GOD! I know one thing for sure: neither side is perfect. In fact, both sides are inherently flawed in that they force us to accept some of the bad with the good.
I disagree with you on your view about who was booing what. There are Christian Democrats just as there are atheist Republicans.

RE: " ...country that was founded on the freedom of religion NOT FROM religion..."

If any political party wants to prepare a platform without reference to religion or God, then it is free to do so (I doubt that the Libertarian Party, for example, mentions God in its platform). By the same token, if individuals choose atheism or agnosticism, they are also free to do so.

So yes, in that sense, we do have freedom FROM religion. If Cynthia's assertion to the contrary is meant to imply that all Americans are constitutionally and legally obligated to a) choose a religion and b) declare that religion through their political affiliations, then, well, that's twisted too. As Thomas Jefferson wrote, "religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship."

I would suggest that Cynthia re-read all references to religion in our Constitution--pasted in my comment at Thursday at 5:47 PM.

With regard to the reason that people were booing, I would also suggest that people watch the video and decide for themselves. Truth be told, people would have booed an errant decision on an amendment declaring Twix as the official candy of the Democratic Party if the Chair declared that it had passed despite the fact that it didn't get the requisite 2/3rds vote (surprisingly, not everybody likes Twix).

I do not have to have a BALANCED opinion, that is for weak minds that can not take a stand. I agree with you that BOTH parties are flawed by I find that the demos are harming our country more at this time and feel a need to comment in an effort to change minds, open minds and cause minds to look for the facts themselves by becoming more involved in the governmental process. I am not here to be positive about the demos. I do not feel positive about the demos. To write or act like I am a demo would be a lie, so Kristin sorry but I am not lowering myself to that level, I will leave that to obama. CJ, Please check out another view of the Booing of God. See how it looks like to 50% of Americans. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eYF7j10dzY&feature=related

You have your side, please be open to what others saw that night. I was watching the demos convention all week, (keep your friends close and your enemy closer) and I saw the event unfold. I saw the audience of demos yelling and screaming NO NO NO! to leaving GOD in the demo platform. I wrote about this issue to open the minds of both demo & republicans. The path the demo party is going down is a scary path. To say it did not happen or that we took it the wrong way may plicate some but not this God fearing American. To challenge the capitol and delete God speaks volumes to the direction of the democratic party. It is not the democratic party of your parents. It has been high jacked by over 50% of demos that want to take it to a place it has never been before. Many blacks and Jews are leaving the party due to the party turning away from God in a very open way. Blacks have historically been strong Bible voters and they are leaving the party. Their pastors are telling them to stay away from the polls due to the change in the platform language. Open you eyes to the reality of your party. If you have not been at one of your parties conventions lately, it is time to go and learn where the party is heading. God Bless you & your party. Please be open to the site I have posted for you to view.

Bobby, precisely where the problem lies. We need a president who understands the nature of our enemy. Muslim extremists see bowing and acquiescing and apoligizing to their leaders as WEAKNESS and act accordingly. We actually enbolden them when we do that. They are insane either way and will attack over nothing, so we might as well stand up to them and show our strength. Reagan did. You democrats call Bush a liar when congress signed off on the Iraq war. Wepons were in fact found. America knew Saddam Hussein had and used weapons of mass destruction. The weapons found were old and possibly unusable which would explain why they were left in place. Bush never lied. Lying is only an implied assumption as our military never found a cache of weapons that were suspected.

The same applies for Obama when he speaks of America's overreach to our enemies. That is considered an apology by anyone with a functional brain. You people will split hairs all day to justify a fight. No Leader Of The Free World should bow to our enemy.

You people have diarrhea of mouth when criticizing the Right as if the Right loves seeing our Men and Women die in war but you don't say JACK about Obama when he sends the same Men and Women into harm's way. Mr. Nobel Peace Prize deserves the same respect you people gave George W. Bush.

Brian- If the purpose of posting that video link was to illustrate how poorly and unprofessionally the far left handles debate then you have succeeded. She asked the man several questions then interrupted him in the middle of his answers. Very poor journalism in my opinion.

Cynthia, for all those who don't unnderstand why deleting reference to God is important, basically, if you don't say "God given rights" then it implies that your rights are vto you by government. Which means, that government wants to own you. They can give or take whatever they want - in essense- you become the slave to the state. Now, democrats, I ask you, is that what you want?

I would also ask if they can now understand why we fight so much for this? Sounds like we are for America, not against it.

@Brian Crawford,
How about informing the unwashed why you guys accuse G.W. Bush of lying while you defend Obama on the apology accusations. Please be very clear how it is that Bush lied. Facts!

Cj, I am at odds when a person/demo continues to support a mindset that has friends of mine loose their homes, jobs, ability to feed their children, maintain healthcare & in some cases their families fracture due to the stress. I have watched college graduations knowing that these graduates have very little chance to become independent adults. I see needy friends that can not get the care they need because too many, whom should NOT be on the government rolls, continue to cheat the system & now want this way of life to be their way of life. Many things are wrong with our country. I know it can be changed. I've seen a president make it happen before. I thank obama for his years in the White House yet, I know we can do better. Today if you have a job, you are rich in obama's mind. Those that think living off the labor of others is a lifestyle, are wrong. I have issues with obama growing the government with his healthcare program. We can't fund SS now so why add another entitlement program? It is time for all good men to come to the aid of their country & vote for a new direction. I thank him for his efforts but we can't make this same mistake again. Every party is flawed. Each man & woman is flawed. Everyone who post here is flawed yet, it is time to change directions for the good of our country. The world now sees us as weak. We are being attacked & murdered at will, due to our leader's weakness. You have to understand your enemy to overcome him & our enemy get's obama. Sad!

Chris, my son was there. They did find the underground missiles. They did find yellow cake - a lot of it. Sadaam had already killed thousands of Kurds, scudded missiles into Israeli territory, and slaughtered his own people. Nuclear weapons, like any other weapons, are only dangerous in the hands of outlaws of which Sadaam was. Iraq's government is no longer hostile to America. It is grateful to us for freeing them from Saddam, who would rather spend money on palaces and yellowcake than on feeding the Iraqi people. Ask my son he was there. Oh, and he also was a part of a mission uncovering propaganda. Guess which newspapers they found? Liberal ones -lolol (This is where George will come on here once again to tell me my son doesn't know what he's talking about- even though George has never been there).
