Woman Reportedly Assaults Boyfriend Then Steals His Rack of Ribs and Liquor
The Winder resident was charged with battery and criminal trespass.
A Winder woman was arrested recently and charged with battery and criminal trespass after her boyfriend reported she assaulted him and stole a rack of ribs and liquor from his residence.
An officer with the Winder Police Department responded to a New Street residence about 10 p.m. July 4, 2012, in reference to a report of a physical altercation. The resident told the officer he had been assaulted by his girlfriend and she had damaged some of his property.
The man said his girlfriend showed up intoxicated, started screaming at him and struck him in the face with her right hand. He said he then left the residence to avoid further physical confrontation and when he returned, his home was in disarray. The woman reportedly broke the man's eyeglasses, stole a rack of ribs and liquor, smeared beans on the top of the stove, unplugged all the TV and sound system equipment, kicked over a grill and took his car keys.
According to an incident report, the resident had a visible laceration on the left side of his nose extending down to his upper lip.
While the officer was interviewing the resident, a witness arrived to return the man's car keys and said his rack of ribs was at her house and his girlfriend was in her truck parked down the street.
Upon speaking to the girlfriend, Melissa Cox Sanders, 37, of 802 Georgetown Drive in Winder, officers smelled a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on her person. The woman admitted to consuming 12 beers before she was placed under arrest and charged with battery and criminal trespass.

I have witness this women become very violent at our family picnic. She slapped my son in his face several times before I told her to stop. Her 12 year old daughter was also in the room along with my mother, sisters and my young niece. My daughter was also pregnant with her second child and was pushed into this situation. She then ask me what was I going to do about it. Threatening to jump on me and had to be held back by my husband. There where many more attacks during their relationship of violence and property destruction on her part. She will lie about any and everything, do not trust her and do not trust that she would fight, steel , lie and destroy anything or anyone she feels mad at. I am afraid for the children who live with her as one being my grandson who is only 8 and has witness to many of the violent acts. Get her off the streets and get her help soon. Her 8 year old son is starting to pick up on the violent behaviors because he has witness her doing these things many times in his small life. She has no respect or regard for anyone or anything when she becomes violet. Approach her with caution and keep her off the streets if she cannot control herself and continues to become out-ragged if she feels the right to do so. She needs serious help and I am afraid one day she is going to go to far in her reckless and wild behaviors. NanaAnna

Why does the Winder courts continue to allow a person with such a violent nature still walk the streets?
Her mother is violent and has passed it down to her. Know she is passing this to her son (my grandson) that at the age of 8 is also becoming violent. What does it take to stop this since the courts appear be disinterested in stopping this not to mention protecting her child. Below you will see that this is an ongoing problem. WAKE UP WINDER.

This family makes me laugh out loud... Im appalled at the false allegations and refuse to be associated with any of them. They dont even know their own grandson. I pray for them and hope they can overcome their alcoholism and substance abuse issues. - Mercy is grace that is undeserved. I pray for mercy for people such as these. God bless!

I hope this Mother gets the help for herself and her son. Nothing that we commented on was untrue and even though something’s cannot be proven, for the eyes that witnessed such actions we can only state. People make choices everyday and they pull families into them without any control or fault of their own. I think she is trying to blame everyone about her situations that was caused by only herself. Her actions and records of violence are finally catching up with her. I pray that they survive this hardship; she cannot stop fighting everyone who tries to help. We are not the ones who caused or cause her any harm and lead her into the decisions she makes. I pray GOD has his arms around her and our grandson. I hope she gets it together, we are not against her, and we can only speak on the actions and truths we know. We are trying to help our grandson and he knows what he lives through. Only she can own it and change it or these patterns will never change. Everyone has a choice to make everyday right/left or stay in the middle. She needs to make a choice and make that step forward. God always blesses change anytime you are healing your soul and protect the ones you love.

Someone needed to speak up! "No child left behind” this has been completely her choices and all under her control. Does she not see her mistakes and see how her child and family are hurting. Allegations of substance abuse issues are her way of protecting herself from fault or blame in her on life's choices
