Winder Resident Says Woman Flashed Children
An officer observed the woman hanging out the passenger side window of a vehicle on Wood Avenue.
An Auburn resident was arrested Saturday, Sept. 22, and charged with indecent exposure after a Winder resident reported her 3- and 4-year-old children were exposed to the woman's bare breasts.
A Winder police officer responding to the complaint observed the suspect with half her body hanging out the passenger side window of a vehicle traveling down Wood Avenue. The woman appeared to have nothing covering her breasts. According to an incident report, the woman then threw her arms up in the air and yelled at a group of men standing near the road, who yelled back.
When the officer executed a traffic stop on the vehicle a juvenile was in the back seat, as well as an open container of alcohol the suspect said belonged to her. When the officer asked the driver why she was allowing the juvenile to be exposed to the suspect's behavior, the driver said she didn't know her passenger would be flashing people.
Due to children being exposed, 23-year-old Ashley Pool Brewer of 73 County Line-Auburn Road in Auburn was arrested and charged with indecent exposure, possession of an open container and seat belt violation. She was transported to the Barrow County Detention Center, where, according to the incident report, staff asked Brewer if she really did flash her breasts and she said she did before being turned over to detention center staff for processing.
