Winder Police to Host Series of Town Hall Meetings

Residents are encouraged to attend these public meetings and learn how they can avoid becoming the victim of a crime.

 

The public is invited to attend an upcoming series of Town Hall Meetings hosted by the City of Winder Police Department. The first in this series of meetings is scheduled for Thursday, July 26 at 6 p.m. and will be held at the City of Winder Colleen O. Williams Community Theatre on Athens Street.

These meetings are designed to share information on recent activity in patrol zones with residents, answer questions and address concerns from citizens.

According to the City of Winder website, meeting number one will primarily focus on Zone 1, a mainly business district. The police define Zone 1 as the property located south of the railroad tracks and withing the Winder City limits.

The police department will give a presentation focusing on scams that target the business community as well as share the crime statistics in Zone 1. The meeting will include an open floor discussion for attendees to pose questions and share concerns.

Dates and times for additional meetings have not yet been finalized. However residents may note that Zone 2 is includes property north of the railroad tracks and east of Broad Street while Zone 3 includes property north of the railroad tracks and west of Broad Street.
