Winder Council to Vote on Additional Annexations along Exchange Boulevard

View the full agenda for today's Winder City Council meeting.

Effective Jan. 1, the Winder City Limits now extend to Exchange Boulevard, a roadway that runs parallel to Ga. Highway 316 and includes the future site of Gateway Station, a 14,000-square-foot development currently under construction.

Members of the Winder City Council voted unanimously during a meeting Tuesday, Dec. 4, to annex five properties into the city limits, including the property where Athens Regional First Care, an urgent health care facility, is located.

During today's council meeting, members are set to vote on additional annexations along Exchange Boulevard. Items 10 through 15 in the agenda, which is provided in a PDF file to the right of this text, are the proposed annexations along Exchange Boulevard.

What do you think about the city of Winder extending its boundaries? What effects do anticipate the annexations will have on Barrow County and the city? Tell us in the comments section below.
