Varsity Restaurant Coming to Gateway Station off 316

The location will be a "Varsity Junior" and similar in size to Chick-fil-A.

Wayne Bartlett with Maynard and Bartlett Realty Group of Winder has confirmed a Varsity restaurant will be built at Gateway Station off Ga. Highway 316 in Bethlehem.

"They will be located in front of the theatre," Bartlett wrote in an e-mail response to Barrow Patch. "We're very excited about The Varsity coming to our project! We're hoping they'll be open by the spring of next year."

Bartlett said the location will be a "Varsity Junior" and similar in size to Chick-fil-A.

The planned 14,000-square-foot Gateway Station development is set to feature a splash fountain similar to the one at Mall of Georgia and a clock tower. The site will also include an acre of greenspace behind the shopping center that can be used for outdoor events, such as concerts. A total of 160 acres are earmarked for grocery, retail, restaurant, office and medical space within Gateway at University Parkway.

Would love to have a sit down restaurant, like Olive Garden or Longhorn. Other than mexican, we have more than enough of those.

Any truth to the rumors of a Red Lobster / Olive Garden combination restaurant? We heard that they would have distinct dining areas, but would share the kitchen area.....

Im looking forward to the varsity. It brings back some killer childhood memories but I do agree that we need some more restaurants like olive garden, longhorns, saigon cafe, ect.

Ugh! More fast food. Great. It could have at least been something better than that grease bucket.

Nooooo, I'd rather Five Guys Burger's. I won't be eating the greasy food at Varsity, but I bet it will be packed on game days.

The Varsity in Barrow. I never would have thought that would come here. This is exciting. Plus all those headed to Athens, will be able to stop off and enjoy some Varsity flavor for the trip. This is a wonderful surprise. YEAH!!
