Unofficial elections results show two incumbents will keep their elected positions — Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith and District 3 Commissioner Steve Worley have won their re-election campaigns. 

By the numbers 

With 24,354 votes cast in the sheriff's race, including absentee ballots and advance voting results, Smith received 19,099 votes (78.42 percent) to James Scott Sr.'s 5,236 (21.5 percent), with 19 write-in votes cast. 

Of 3,391 votes cast in the race for the District 3 seat on the Barrow County Board of Commissioners, Worley received 2,048 (60.4 percent) to Johnny C. Smith's 1,338 (39.46 percent), with five write-in votes cast. 

How Barrow County voted in the presidential race

About 74 percent of Barrow County voters supported Mitt Romney's bid for the presidency, with Romney receiving 18,719 votes to Barack Obama's 6,019 (23.83 percent). Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson received 433 votes (1.71 percent), and there were 84 write-in votes, for a total of 25,255 votes cast in the presidential race. 

Voter participation

Of the 35,096 registered voters in Barrow County, 25,300, or 72.09 percent, cast ballots in Tuesday's election, whether by heading to the polls on Election Day, taking advantage of early voting or submitting absentee ballots.
